De-CONNECT PhotoGroup takes a different path.

We spread the learning over three months—with weekly prompts, space to experiment, and a close-knit group of 20. It’s a safe, supportive space to share your work, get feedback, and feel truly seen.

This isn’t a crash course. It’s a learning eco-system. One that respects your pace.

The De-CONNECT PhotoGroup is a mindful photography learning journey designed as a 6-semester path. Each semester spans 3 months and focuses on a specific stage of creative growth—from seeing with presence to building a personal body of work.

You’ll join a small cohort of 20 members, receive weekly photo prompts, learn through guided themes, and grow through reflection, feedback, and practice. It’s a subscription-based model, so you can continue your journey one semester at a time—with the freedom to pause, rejoin, or even revisit a previous semester (i.e., a specific stage of creative growth) concurrently as you move forward.

Whether you're a curious beginner or an emerging photographer looking to deepen your voice, the PhotoGroup offers structure, community, and a rhythm to help you grow—thoughtfully and sustainably.

Our first semester is the foundation of everything. It introduces not only mindful photography practices, but also the mindset, rhythm, and internal shift that define the De-CONNECT approach. Slowing down, seeing differently, and reconnecting with your creative self isn’t something we rush—or skip.

Even seasoned photographers often find new depth when they return to the basics through a mindful lens. It’s not about relearning what you already know. It’s about seeing it in a new way.

These programs offer you guidance and supportive space to grow as a photographer. But in creative work, results aren’t guaranteed—they’re discovered. Progress depends on your engagement, your openness to explore, and your willingness to practice and reflect.

The insights you learn will definitely be share-worthy, but the activities in each program are tailored for the group in the learning eco-system.

In order for your friends to get the best results, we recommend that they sign up to take the program themselves.

Yes! You will receive a $20 credit voucher for each friend who joins the Newsletter Plus on an annual plan ($47/year) during the launch period. 

As for the PhotoGroup, you will receive a $80 credit voucher for each friend who joins the program on an annual plan ($270/year) during the launch period. Each cohort is capped at 20 members per quarter!

We are currently focusing on the Photography Track. 

The exciting Video class in production will be rolling out near the end of 2026 as a short, immersive deep dive workshop.

Video is a powerful storytelling medium—but it operates on a different rhythm than photography. While a single photograph can express presence, emotion, and meaning in one frame, video unfolds over time and requires a full creative cycle to come alive.

That cycle includes scripting, shooting, and editing—each requiring dedicated focus and time. You can’t just take a video and post it. Until it’s edited and shaped, the story remains incomplete.

Because of this, video can’t fit into the gentle, week-by-week flow that defines De-CONNECT’s photography rhythm. It demands a block of time—usually 2 to 7 days—where you can immerse yourself fully in the process, from start to finish.

That’s why we only offer video courses a few times a year, as short, focused deep-dives. The ideal setting is an overseas immersion, where you’re free from daily distractions and can devote yourself fully—from sunrise to sunset—to the craft of storytelling.

And at the end of that creative arc, there’s always a product:
A story. A message. An impression. A moment of mood.
Something complete—made with care, shaped with intention.
