Over the past three issues, we noticed plane, surface and repetition. These give us different ways to see an ordinary scene.
NOTICE
Look across the three photographs.
The wall and cooker top give the flowers a setting.
Footprints mark the snowy ground.
Steel ribs repeat on both sides of the ship.
SEE
Each element contributes something different.
PLANE gives areas their place. SURFACE shows the character of materials. REPETITION brings rhythm.
They can also appear together. In the ship photograph, rust marks give the repeated steel ribs their surface character.
TRY
When something catches your eye today, pause.
Look beside or around it. Notice one detail you had overlooked.
